A Celebration of BE-ing & Spirit

Resilience and Resistance is a synergistic collision series. The upcoming Resilience and Resistance will take place during the Winter Solstice on December 21, 2019 at The Ely Center Of Contemporary Art

A Celebration of Resilience and Resistance provides a symbiotic climate for artists, art appreciators, and culture participants (EVERYONE) to fuse and accept their presence in the divine moment.

Divine Moment  is curated and coordinated by performance curator Briana Williams, with the intention to expose spirit, celebrate resilience and resist divergence.

All are welcome! This program was designed with aspirations of healing and further inspiring the community at large.

And don’t miss Solos 2019 on exhibit in the upstairs galleries!

Control Group is Yale University’s only undergraduate experimental theater ensemble. The group is comprised of actors, architects, painters, writers, musicians, dancers, and more, and they make work across these disciplines. Through a collaborative, devising-based rehearsal process, Control Group presents one or more original works throughout the academic year.

For this piece, Control Group is interrogating the idea of the archive: personal, physical, institutional, and collective. What are the objects, fragments, words, and music that make up a person’s own archive? Or that of a group? With an eye towards the past, present, and future, Control Group’s show will be in dialogue with the historic building that the Ely Center occupies, as they create an original, interactive performance installation in and among the rooms of the gallery.
